Terms of Service

Last updated 2 June 2026

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of MedicalCertificateGP (“we”, “us”, the “Service”). By submitting a consultation request you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

1. Nature of the Service

MedicalCertificateGP is a technology platform that connects patients with independent, AHPRA-registered Australian medical practitioners (the “Doctor”) for the purpose of assessing and, where clinically appropriate, issuing short-form medical certificates. The Doctor is solely responsible for any clinical decision made; MedicalCertificateGP does not itself practise medicine.

The Service is not a substitute for emergency care. If you are experiencing chest pain, difficulty breathing, severe bleeding, suicidal thoughts, anaphylaxis, stroke symptoms or any other emergency, call 000 immediately.

2. Eligibility

  • You must be at least 16 years of age (parents or carers may submit on behalf of a younger patient).
  • You must be physically located in Australia at the time of the consultation.
  • You must provide truthful, accurate and complete information. Knowingly making a false declaration to obtain a medical certificate may be a criminal offence.

3. No clinical guarantee

A certificate is issued only where the Doctor determines, in their professional clinical judgement, that it is appropriate to do so. Payment is taken at the time of submission and is fully refunded automatically if the Doctor declines to issue a certificate (see §5).

4. Pricing

  • Single-day certificate: A$19.90
  • Multi-day certificate (up to 2 consecutive days): A$29.90

All prices are in Australian dollars. Medical certificate consultations are not Medicare-rebateable. GST does not apply to these services as they are GST-free under A New Tax System (Goods and Services Tax) Act 1999, section 38-7 (medical services).

5. Refunds

If the Doctor declines to issue a certificate, your payment is refunded in full automatically to your original payment method. Bank processing typically takes 5–10 business days. Once a certificate has been issued, the consultation fee is non-refundable as the clinical service has been provided.

6. Use of the certificate

  • Each certificate is issued to one named patient for the dates specified.
  • Certificates must not be altered, forged, or transferred to another person.
  • Each certificate carries a unique verification reference and the Doctor’s AHPRA registration number.

7. Cabin Crew and Flight Crew certificates

Where you indicate that you are Cabin Crew or Flight Crew, the certificate will be marked URTI (upper respiratory tract infection) in line with Australian airline employer policy. You warrant that you genuinely hold the role declared.

8. Your account & data

Our handling of your personal and health information is set out in our Privacy Policy. We retain clinical records as required by Australian law.

9. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • submit fraudulent, duplicate or speculative requests;
  • impersonate another person;
  • use the Service for any unlawful purpose;
  • attempt to interfere with the security or integrity of the platform.

We may suspend or terminate access where we reasonably suspect misuse.

10. Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by Australian law, our total aggregate liability to you in respect of any claim arising out of or in connection with the Service is limited to the fees paid by you for the consultation giving rise to the claim. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits any consumer guarantee that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law.

11. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia, and the courts of New South Wales have non-exclusive jurisdiction.
